I'm inspired by the amount of strength, persistence, and resistance that people have despite what they are up against. There are many stories of resistance to colonialism but resistance to me means treating each other well and not being afraid to challenge the ways of thinking that divide us e.g. challenging racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism etc. I believe that as people we can move a lot farther ahead if we change the linear ways of thinking that work to divide us and we must see how we... I have been a friend, companion and sister to many young people who are silenced by all sorts of trauma in different levels. I am really into peer-counselling. This means I have to be the 'voice' of reason to someone who feels trapped and sees no escape. This also means that as a young person myself, I have to lead by example and practice what I preach.
